Mr. Reginal Jones was born June 22, 1973 in Copiah County, MS to Minnie and Billy Ray Jones, Sr. He attended Crystal Springs High School where he joined the Crystal Springs Tigers basketball team and later graduated in 1991.
Reggie was loved by everyone he came in contact with. Always a hard worker but he played even harder. Marked by his mother’s dimples, he passed them on to all five of his kids. Always had a smile on his face. Handsome, kind-hearted, loving, caring and was willing to help anybody he could. He was loved by people far and near.
Yogi was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Minnie Bell Jones; two brothers, Johnnie Lee (Tammy) Jones and Steven Ladell Jones; one nephew, Stedario Jones and one loving aunt, Lucille Williams who had always been a mother figure to him and his siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory, four sons: Joshua Sandifer, Sr., Crystal Springs, MS; Reginald Jones, Jr., Hazlehurst, MS; Jalen Jones, Yazoo City, MS and Jamari Keion Jones, Brandon, MS; one daughter, Armani Robinson, Jackson, MS; eight grandchildren: Kennedy Amari Jones, Jalen Smith, Layla Sandifer, Trezirian Sandifer, Unique Gastile, Emery Powell, Avery Powell and Joshua Sandifer, Jr.; father, Billy Ray (Betty) Jones, Sr.; one sister, Tremekia Jones; one brother, Billy Ray Jones, Jr.; two adopted brothers: Jermaine Smith and Anthony Smith; three adopted sisters: Phyllis Smith, Shontaye Smith and Danielle Smith, all of Crystal Springs, MS; three nephews: Delwine Wimberly, Kurvis Robinson and Jakobe Noel, all of Georgetown, MS; four aunts: Lula Bell Smith, Greenwood, MS; Mary Hogan, Jackson, MS; Nettie Mae Taylor, Crystal Springs, MS and Dorothy Hogan-Queen, Fayette, MS; two uncles: Clarence Smith, Crystal Springs, MS and Rev. J.C. Hogan, Jackson, MS; a special friend, Shaunnia Townsend; one goddaughter, Angel Neal and a host of family and friends.
