Obituary For CSSA Jaylon Demarius Moye, U.S. Navy

The funeral services for the late CSSA Jaylon Demarius Moye, U. S. Navy, who departed this life on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Manama, Bahrain, will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia. Words of Comfort and Encouragement will be given by Pastor Fred Clay. Services may be viewed Facebook Live from the "Shipp's Funeral Home" Facebook page.

CSSA Jaylon Demarius Moye was born in Sylvester, Georgia, to Mr. Anthony Moye and the late Mrs. Felicia Moye on December 17, 1999. He graduated from Beechcroft High School in Columbus, Ohio in 2018, where he was Senior Class Treasurer, a member of the football, volleyball, wrestling, and several academic teams. After graduation, Jaylon enlisted into the United States Navy. On April 18, 2021, Jaylon passed away in Manama, Bahrain, while serving aboard the USS Dextrous.

Jaylon was a bright, inspiring, and active member of his community. He was effortlessly shining his light and warming the hearts of those around him. His love and smile will forever live in our hearts.

Jaylon is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mattie Walker, and great grand- mother, Clara Walker.

Jaylon is survived by his fiancรฉ, CS3 Sadayha Benston; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Carol Moye; his siblings, Devin Moye, Kandyce (Jordan) Bankhead, Jakira Moye, Jazeil Moye, Jalisa Mott; his loving grandparents, Mary Love, Pastor Willie (Alma) Love, Jr., Jackie (Gloria) Cook; his aunt, Edyie Johnson; his uncles, Carlton (Shirlene) Cook, Erick (Trina) Cook, Malcolm (Monique) Cook, Keeven Walker, John (Adrienne) Dulaney; and a host of supportive family and friends.

We want to say a special thanks to his Beechcroft High Family of Columbus, Ohio, the Jordan Family of Columbus, Georgia, and the men and women Jaylon served with in the United States Navy.
