Obituary For Joe Brown Jr.

Joe Brown Jr. passed with peace and grace on April 20, 2021 with family and friends at his side. He enjoyed life on every level with his family and friends.

Joe was born on July 17, 1944 to the late Mr. Joe Brown Sr. and Mrs Lue Hamler Brown. He was raised in Waverly Hall, GA and a Mighty Tiger of Carver High School in Hamilton, Georgia. Joe was a strong man who exuded kindness and found great joy in making the people around him happy. Joe moved to Atlanta, Georgia in his early years where he was a dedicated worker at Colonial Stores for 20 plus years and drove his own taxi cab with Checker Cab Company.

He is preceded in death by a brother: Lonnie Brown.

He met and married Tracey Lance and from this union his beloved children were born Sylvia “Kalise”Brown and Joe “Korey” Brown III. Joe was a doting father that would do anything for his children. In the mid 90’s Joe moved back to Waverly Hall, GA. Because of his love for driving, Joe decided to obtain his CDL license. He drove trucks for Hugh Oliver and Southern Pines faithfully for many years. He also leaves to cherish his memories two brothers: Oscar (Brenda) Brown of Columbus, GA and Aaron Brown of Waverly Hall, GA; one sister: Joann Brown of Ellerslie, GA; one sister-in-law Anice Brown of Oak Park, MI and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
