Obituary For Mr. William "Bill" Curtis Proctor Sr

William C. Bill Proctor, Sr.

Tallahassee - William C. Bill Proctor Sr., 85, heard the final whistle call, took his last bows at home, and he boarded the Heavenly Express early morning train bound for Glory on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

Waving farewell was his wife of 63 tender years Patricia Brown Proctor; a son and Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor; grandchildren Aaron, Haley, Jordan, Justin, and great grandson Justice Proctor. Bill Sr. was a long and active member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, having served on the Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee. His legacy is noted in his service as a high school industrial arts teacher, insurance agent, housing specialist, and as a housing entrepreneur. He served honorably in the United States Army. As a Christian soldier, he bore the attributes of being patient, kind, humble, respectful, caring, easygoing, considerate, gentleman, hardworking, and dependable.

On land he was an extraordinary gardener and housing enthusiast. On water he was a superb fisherman and sportsman. During leisure he was a broad and active reader.

He has a brother, Ernest Proctor, nephews, a niece and loving family members. Bill Proctor Sr., has now joined a great cloud of witnesses including his parents, Reverend James and Queen Esther Proctor, brother, Reverend James Proctor, and sister, Betty Proctor Wiggins.

A wake will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021, at the Strong and Jones Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the Southside Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mr. Proctor's passing. He was such a kind, easygoing soul here on earth. He will be truly missed by family and friends alike. As sad as it will be, you will always have his memory to hold in your hearts. The Bible reminds us that "Blessed are those that mourn for they shall be comforted." I pray that this will be especially true for you as you mourn your loss and that God will give you the strength to see you through this sad and difficult time. Sister Proctor, brother Proctor was a joy to know. Me and Vincent (decease) was glad to have been in his present. Brother Proctor Sr. He shared so much knowledge with us on investing and books. I have such great memories of my uncle especially his comedic spirit, his generosity and his wisdom. He is now reunited with his mom and dad and brother and sister in heaven. May God bless Aunt Pat and Bill Jr. as they deal with this great loss. S. Elvin Proctor
