Obituary For Georgia "Puddin" Jones

Georgia Louise Jones (Roberts), affectionately known as "Puddin", departed this life on Monday, May 3, 2021 at her residence. Born in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Betty Randolph and Lenwood "Son" Jones.

She was married to the late Bernard Roberts and was a graduate of Central High School. "Puddin" was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church, Amherst, VA.

In addition to her parents and husband, "Puddin" was preceded in death by five sisters, Josephine Hughes, Alberta Godette, Frances Rose, Rosetta Harris, and Dorothy Harris; and three brothers, Phil Jones, Lenwood Jones, and Percy Jones.

"Puddin" leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Derrick Roberts of Amherst, VA, and Durwin Roberts of Lynchburg, VA; seven grandchildren, Amani, Denzel, Kadejah, D'Erika, Donzel, James, and Brazil; three great-grandchildren, Samurai, Hymaarei, and Kingston; three sisters, Cordela Burrell of Hoboken, NJ, Betty (Andrew) Sales, and Alice Riggins; one brother, Henry Jones all of Amherst, VA; devoted friend's, Winfield Douglas, Gerald Thomas, Janice Thomas, and Alicia Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 12 noon at Community Funeral Home Chapel, 909 Fifth Street, Lynchburg, VA, with Reverend Rodney Sandidge, Officiating. Burial will follow at the Jones Family Cemetery, Amherst, VA. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Community Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA, between the hours of 9 A.M. until 5 P.M. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering and social distancing is required.
