The songwriter penned, " Just a little while to stay here, Just a little while to wait. Just a little while to labour in the path that's always straight. Its just a little more of trouble in the old sinful stay, Then we'll enter heaven's portals, Sweeping through the pearly gates.

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that the Simon Family convey to all that their beloved -

Revered Willie C. Simon Sr. of Valdosta Georgia whispered, I'm gonna lay down my burden, down by the riverside. Down by the riverside, down by the riverside. I'm gonna lay down my burden, down by the riverside - I'm gonna study war no more.

To The Simon Family: Our family extends our deepest sympathies to each of you in this time of mourning, and we are deeply saddened by your loss. Rev. Simon was always full of joy, laughter, and kind words. My Mom truly loved to eat his Tea Cakes and other pot luck dishes he would bring to the church, and I enjoyed eating his peach cobbler and blackberry doobie. Draw strength from God and know that each of you are loved and that we offer prayers of comfort for each of you. Lucille Robinson Sonja Sykes
