Paulette Blanton Herbin

Paulette Blanton Herbin, was born February 8, 1954 to James B. Blanton Jr and

Martha Luckey Blanton in Knoxville TN the fourth born of five, departed this life

May 1. 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.

A Graduate of Austin-East High School class of 72, she also attended Pellissippi State Community College.

A member of First AME Zion Church 63 years which she attended regularly until

declining health prevented, she served on the Stewardess Board, and thoroughly enjoyed attend and participating with the adult class at Vacation Bible School.

She worked in many capacities during her lifetime, that mostly centered around children, from the Florence Crittenton Agency, the Richard L Bean Juvenile Detention Center, to the most notable The Boys and Girls Club Christenberry Heights, where she was affectionately known as "Ms Paulette" Preceded in death by her parents, her brother James B. Blanton III, niece Mary Linda Mathis, nephew, Joseph C Davis I , and most recently oldest sister Emily B Mathis She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Calvin M. Mathis Sr and Candice D. Hampton Siblings Rose B. Davis Michael W. Blanton Nieces and Nephews Christopher Dexter, Marilynn Mathis, Kimberly Strickland, Debra Washington, James E. Mathis Sr (Juvenia) Timothy J. Davis Sr Special Great-niece Summer Leann Mathis And many other family members and close associates, acquaintances and friends too numerous to name.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with Rev. James E. Mathis, Jr. officiating. The final resting place will immediately follow at Berry Highland South Cemetery which will conclude with a dove release. Mrs. Herbin will lie in repose on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 12:00-6:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel. Unity Mortuary is honored to serve the Herbin, Blanton, Davis, Hampton and Mathis families.
