Obituary For Ruth Washington

Ruth Washington, 91, of Harrisburg passed away, Friday, April 23, 2021 at UPMC Community Osteopathic. She was born in Harrisburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late Richard Wright and Mary (McKinnsey) Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Washington. She was a retired employee of 20 years at the Harrisburg State Hospital. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters Cheryl J. Wright, Jacqueline M. Washington, and Kathryn Washington; two sons Richard T. Washington (Sherry) of Clarksville, TN and Michael R. Washington (Lynn) of Harrisburg, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1439 Market Street, Harrisburg. Live streaming of the service will be available on YouTube (Francis Harrisburg). Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the church, until the time of the service. Guidelines will be observed with face masks and social distancing for all attendees. Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.

My condolences to the family. I was a former neighbor of the Washington's. I delivered the evening paper to them as a young girl many many years ago. They were always nice to me. I also remember Dutches.
