Obituary For Ms. Mary Duncan

On May 5th, Ms. Mary L. Duncan of Panama City, Florida and formerly of Marianna Florida, the Springfield Community, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior at the River Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Blountstown. She was 88 years old.

She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Springfield A.M.E. Church.

She leaves cherished memories with one sister, Minnie Bay Russ of Cottondale, Florida; special friends, Willie Duncan, Mary Mack and Dr. Carrie Baker all of Panama City, Florida; three nephews, Eddie Charles (Theresa) Russ, Eugene (Dorothy) Pittman and Henry (Nora) Gray; four nieces, Patricia (Darius) Miller, Della Mae Gray, Beverly Gray (Bobby) Addison and Janine (Jamie) McMiller; one sister-in-law, Irene Gray; special cousin and caregiver, Clarence (Mildred) Holden; three step daughters, Sylvia Ann (Preston) Frank, Melinda Duncan and Michelle Duncan; one step son, Henry Watkins; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held Friday, May 14th from 3-6p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held graveside Saturday, May 15th at 1:00p.m. at Springfield AME Church Cemetery with Pastor Hollis McClendon and Evangelist Samuel Gray officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

I just found out about Ms Mary, I met her when I was working at the courthouse on her street. I got her cats spayed and have been feeding them since she has been gone. She was such a sweet lady, rest in peace Ms Mary. Kathy McCurdy
