Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Easter will be Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 3:00PM; Willie A. Watkins Historic West End Chapel, 1003 Ralph D. Abernathy BLVD Atlanta, GA 30310.

Viewing will be Monday, May 10, 2021 from 2PM-6PM at Willie A. Watkins Historic West End Chapel.

I met Mrs. Easter at the age of 4 years old when my twin and I joined The Junior Choir at New Bethel Baptist Church in Winston Salem NC. As a young child I looked up to her and the excellent job she did leading us in song every Sunday morning. This was a shock to hear of her passing. I will always remember that smile and the tissue box she always handed us to remove our gum before singing. She was a special part of my years growing up and she will be missed. Mrs. Easter was a beautiful soul. I worked with her when we held Womens' Ministry meetings in her home. She'd call and tell me to bring my computer so I could take notes. I visited my California church, Friendship Baptist in Yorba Linda some years ago and realized that one of the pictures from the book "Crowns" of women in hats, hanging in the church's education building was Mrs. Easter. I couldn't wait to get back to church to ask her about it. She just said: "Uh Huh, that's me." Always spoke to her and hugged her after church. I was very pleasantly surprised when she and Deacon Easter showed up at my late sister's wake, exactly 6 years ago this week. Sleep on Mrs. Easter. You will be missed. Emma Harris and Family

Deacon Audrey Easter was a sweet spirit and always had a comforting word for my mother, Mattie Price, who proceeded her on March 16, 2021. She was a member of the team that visited her to give Communion every second Sunday. Deacon Easter always had something to share with her. In fact, the homegoing outfit my mother wore home to be with the Lord was a gift from Deacon Easter. That was the kind of sweet spirit she was. Deacon Mary Langley!
