~OBITUARY~

Robert Halman Busby affectionately known as "Rob" or "Buzz" by his family and friends quietly passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 after a brief illness. Robert was born August 29, 1974, to his proud parents Louretta Busby and the late John Holman Busby in Hampton County, South Carolina.

He attended the Hampton County District II public schools. At an early age, it became very apparent to his family that he was gifted and talented beyond his years. Robert was analytical and a very deep thinker. He was an outdoors man, always enjoying nature.

Robert was a graduate of Estill High School, class of 1992, ranking in the top percentile of his class. Shortly after graduation, Robert enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country. Upon release from the Army, Robert went back to his first love, Artisan, skilled in many trades from carpentry to masonry. He was a very jovial person always creating laughter wherever he went.

Mark 10:9 "For what God has joined together, let no man put asunder." On August 4, 2017, Robert Halman Busby and Michelle A. McDonald were joined in Holy Matrimony under God's Holy Ordiance. Their union was embraced after many years of trials and tributations, yet still was graced in love; as they both carried out that commitment under God's covering until the preceding of death of Robert Halman Busby.

In addition, to his father, Robert is preceded in death by his loving daughter: Tanesha Busby,; loving son: Johnathan Busby; and his loving sister: Sharon Busby Lewis.

Mourning his loss yet rejoicing his life are: his loving an devoted wife: Michelle A. Busby, of the home; loving mother, Louretta Busby, Lena, SC; (3) Sons: Robert Busby, Jr., Aiken, SC, Christopher Jon Busby, Columbia, SC, TyShawn (Zakia) Busby, Virginia; (2) Daughters: Harmony Busby, Orangeburg, SC, and Biance Busby, Columbia, SC; (8) Grandchildren: Amari Jones, Aniylah Adams, Johnathan Jacobe Kelley, Emonie Tanisha Busby, Robert Busby III, Robyn Busby, Cherish Tanesha Busby, and Laila Busby; (1) Brother: Sylvester (Gwen) Busby, Pineland, SC; (2) Sisters: Johnnie Busby Ingram, Atlanta, GA, Pamela (Mack) Busby Williams, Columbia, SC; (2) Step-Daughters: Shasai S. Hendrix, FaQuai D. McDonald; (6) Step-Grandchildren: Omari C. Hendrix Jr., Benjamin N. Hendrix, Kiyla Hendrix, Kaleb Hendrix, Quay'Von McDonald, Quyn McDonald. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Rob I've delivered this kind of news before Meeting my parents at the door To my mother Running up with my brothers screaming it Despite what my sisters had said about letting them do it We were children then didn't know any better I was young and dumb and ignorant then of true friendship I hope she forgives us I delivered it to my father At the door again I was a teenager then A little older Still young and dumb But a little less ignorant Of true friendship I hope he forgives the messenger After hearing neither of them came in They both sat outside for hours Thinking So intense it made the world quiet all around them Didn't understand then as I do now They were mourning Robert H Busby Big Rob Red Hot Dog Boo Love Prince Naseem We had names So many As silly now as they were serious then As ridiculous as only boys growing into men can make them As adults After years of not seeing each other The only name we used when greeting was "Yoooooo!" then laughter Then hug Then punch Then lies Then drinks Then "You remember?", "Let's do _____ one more time", "Maaaaaan, we too old for that" More drinks We exited each other's presence having never used our governments Or nicks Just, pure emotion A joyful noise The sound Of True Friendship We battled together Literally and figuratively We battled each other In "game", mentally, and that one time, physically Each mysteriously never landing a real blow I won Don't lie We drank a beer right after Don't tell my father 😊 Then went out into the dark Lena night "borrowing" one of our father's cars Don't tell them causing the mischief of men with boy wisdom Estill forgive us You had a way about you Making even those who didn't like you Like you A brain on you That you didn't always use A loyalty that you did And if we're being honest You were always...a kid Wrapped in old school Elder's teachings Again, not always used You Were always You We spoke less than a month ago by phone for hours both doing something else while laughing, rehashing, and planning we were supposed to get together, but... last night I couldn't get to sleep till 'fore day this morning upon waking I saw you went home before day this morning When I got the message I went out my door As my parents showed me A house is too small For this type of mourning Rest in Power Rest in Peace You have family waiting on you You have left a legacy I am me because of you My friend My brother I love you Elliot Axiom ©2021 aka "Yooooooo!
