Obituary For Larry Curtis Sr.

Larry Curtis Sr. April 6, 1952 - April 30, 2021

Warner Robins, Georgia - Graveside services for Larry Curtis Sr., will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Parkway Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 1:00PM. A public viewing will take place Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM at Nelson Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Larry Darnell Curtis Sr., was born to the late George Bagley Sr., and the late Caroline Curtis on April 6, 1952. He was reared in Warner Robins, Georgia by his loving grandmother the late Tempie H. Curtis. Larry attended the public school system where he received a High School Diploma from Warner Robins High School. During his childhood years he was known for his outstanding athletic abilities and his desire to laugh at all times. After high school Mr. Curtis joined the United States Air Force. Once leaving the Air Airforce Larry took a job at Robins Air Force Base as a Civil Service employee where he worked for twenty years. As an employee of Robins AFB, Larry served as a Union Steward where he advocated on behalf of members. Larry had a passion for playing softball, basketball, gardening, cooking, and family gatherings. Larry loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was called home by our creator on Friday, April 30, 2021, He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Green; granddaughters; Angel Curtis, Diane Curtis and Diamonique Canty. We will miss him dearly, but his memories will be kept alive by all that had the pleasure of knowing him as a loving and devoted, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Cherishing those memories are his caring and devoted family: son, Larry D. Curtis Jr., (Laura); daughter, Kimberly Spivey (Otayris); six grandchildren; Samantha Thornell, Stephan "Jah" Curtis, Larry "Karon" Curtis, Jazmin Curtis, Deyontay "King" Spivey, and Chasidy Spivey; eleven sisters and brothers; Leroy Bagley (Diane), Dorothy Dixon, Janie Zanders, Marion Curtis, Annie Simmons, George Bagley Jr., (Jane), Brenda Thornton, Clarence Bagley (Desiree Alexander), Cathie Lightfoot (Chuck Veal), Maurice Bagley (Monica Alford), Diana Curtis. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In loving memory of Larry D. Curtis Sr., "To some you were their helper, To some you were a friend, But I can honestly say that, "You were always my perfect example." Love Always, Larry D. Curtis Jr.
