Obituary For Kevin Antonio Stevens

A celebration of life for Mr. Kevin Antonio Stevens of Talladega, 50, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in Midway Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the funeral home.

Kevin Antonio Stevens was born on December 15, 1970, at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina where his father served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Kevin departed this life on Monday, May 10, 2021, at his home in Talladega, Alabama.

Kevin received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 11 at Jacobs Chapel C.M.E. Church in Talladega, Alabama where he dutifully performed the role of an Acolyte. He later affiliated with the St. Paul C.M.E. Church in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Kevin graduated from Jacksonville High School with the class of 1989 and later matriculated at Gadsden State College until he decided to serve his country. He joined the U.S. Air Force and completed tours of duty in South Korea and Saudi Arabia to support Operation Desert Storm. He continued to use his military occupation while employed several years with ATAP, Inc. in Eastaboga, Alabama.

Kevin was blessed with many talents and skills. He was an avid athlete who could pitch “no-hitter” baseball games and help bring his basketball team to victory scoring an average of 21 points per game. He was also known for his endowed barbering skills, and for his remarkable ability to encourage others.

Kevin loved and enjoyed his family and friends, and at a young age he positioned himself as a leader and assumed the role as the family’s “Protective Guardian.”

Kevin leaves to cherish his loving memories and kindness to his adorable children, ShaKearra, Kevin Jr., Danyelle, Celeste and Khalil; six grandchildren; his mother, Jessi Patterson Stevens; two brothers, Kenneth A. Stevens, Jr. (Yvette) and Curtis L. Stevens (Rhonna); one sister, Ashley Turnage (Clinton); Godparents, Curtis and Phyllis Patterson, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and a countless number of friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shantel Anjanette Stevens; son, Rashad; father, Kenneth A. Stevens, Sr.; and a brother, Keith Stevens.
