On October 7, 1943, in Lineville, Alabama, Roosevelt Striplin and Beulah Ruff Striplin welcomed a baby girl to their family. They gave the name Rosetta to this child their family was blessed with.

Mrs. Heard confessed Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior. In recent years, she enjoyed worshipping at Vineyard Worship Center. She was educated in the schools of Clay County, Alabama. Rosetta possessed many talents and through the years these talents lead to her employment with Lineville Nursing Home, Higgins Sewing Plant, Clay County Hospital and Little Rascals Daycare. She had a passion for sewing, cooking and reading her Bible.

On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, the Lord picked his flower, Rosetta to be placed in his garden of eternity. She was planted upon the meadows alongside her husband, Curtis Heard; her parents, Roosevelt and Beulah Striplin; and six siblings, Beulah Striplin, Viola Sullivan, Ida Francis, Geraldine Davenport, Roosevelt Striplin and Frank Striplin.

Precious memories of Rosetta will forever remain in the hearts of her five daughters, Melinda (Michael) Chappell of Ashland, Alabama, Baretta (Patrick) Swain of Talladega, Alabama, Samantha (Michael) Turman of Lineville, Alabama, Donna Heard and Dianna Heard of Ashland, Alabama; six sons, Curtis Heard, Jr., Joseph E. Heard, Danny Heard, Mark (Lawanda) Heard and Whona Heard of Ashland, Alabama and Pervis (Charlotte Howard) Heard of Alexandria, Alabama; thirty-one grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; a special friend, Luella Craig; and a host of other relatives and friends.
