Obituary For Jimmy Mungin

Time slipped into eternity as Mr. Jimmy Mungin, 73, of the Pocotaligo community, departed this mortal world on Friday, May 14, 2021 in the Memorial Medical Center, Savannah, GA. Jimmy was a son of the late Beatrice Witter Mungin and Rufus Mungin. A native of Jasper County, SC, he attended the local public schools.

He was employed with the Mackey's Point Planation as a member of the ground maintenance crew for numerous years. Jimmy enjoyed watching TV. playing his guitar, listening to jazz, and enjoying the company of family and friends.

He is survived by his two sisters, Irene King and Drucilla Riley of New York, New York; two sisters-in-law, Gloria R. Mungin, Yemassee, SC, and Patricia Mungin, White Plains, NY; his caregivers, Pastor Roger Bowers, Delores Bolden and Isaiah Lewis of Yemassee, SC. There are numerous other relatives and friends that will celebrate his life and mourn his passing.

Visitation: Friday, May 21st 4-7 pm in the Chapel of Young Funeral Home.

Graveside Service: Saturday, May 22nd. 2:00 pm in the Frampton Cemetery, Campground Road, Point South, SC.

ALL Services will require face masks and social distancing.

Jimmy you have gone to your resting home Irene and I(Drue) are going to miss you so much. We going to miss talking to you even tho you only had maybe two words to say but we know how you was quite caring and loving. God has taken you home so you won't have no pain. I will miss my uncle Jimmy. Every time I would come to SC to visit I will ask him Uncle Jimmy you happy to see me he would smile and say yes you are my favorite. My uncle was Very quite to himself. Rest on Uncle Jimmy. You will always be remembered love your niece Tricia
