Larry attended Durham Public Schools, he worked for Burlington Industries several years prior to working for the City of Durham for 26 years until he retired. Larry loved his children and family, but also preferred time alone. He loved working on cars and small engines, and could be found washing and polishing his own at any given time. He had a green thumb like no one else and loved working in the yard, pruning, mowing, and cultivating his plants. And whose life would be complete without a furry companion? Larry loved dogs. He had many, but a few stand out and his heart broke when they passed. Larry also welcomed any opportunity to offer words of wisdom to his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or even a passing stranger. If he felt there was a better way of doing something, he'd let you know it. Larry was there for others, even after his health declined he would go out of his way to be of help. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
