Mrs. Ruth J. Jackson was born April 27, 1933 in Macon County to the late Oraton and Gertrude Johnson. She departed this life on May 16, 2021. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from Judkins Cemetery, Shorter, AL. She leaves to cherish her memories four sons, Samuel L. (Georgia) Jackson, Montgomery, AL, William J. Jackson, West Haven, Connecticut, Kenneth J. Jackson (who preceded her in death) New Haven, Connecticut, and Frank D. (Diane) Jackson, New Haven, Connecticut; ten grandchildren, Dennis, Tammie, Jermaine (who preceded her in death), all of Montgomery, AL; Chandler, Brandon, William, Shaleah, Jasmine, Chiniqua and Kenya all of Connecticut; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; devoted nieces and nephews, Ruth Evelyn (Benjamin) Adams, Thelma (O'Neal) Hartman, Ann Jeanette (Bobby) Brown, Loretta (Xavier) Smith, Gail Hall, Beverly (Bobby) Foye and Deborah Woods, Benjamin (Brenda) Hall, Vernon Hall and Albert Adams; a devoted friend, Deloris Ricks, Hamden, Connecticut; a host of other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Noami J. Hall, Nathaniel Johnson, Oraton Johnson Jr., Leroy Johnson, Theodore Johnson and Thaddeus Johnson. She was educated in the Macon County School System at an early age, she joined Greater White Church. She later married Samuel Jackson (who preceded her in death).To this union four children were born. In 1963, she moved to New Haven, Connecticut. She attended St. Matthews UFW Baptist Church. She was member of the Senior Choir, Food Pantry Committee and In Home Mission. She retired from Pratt Whitney after 20 years of service. She relocated to Montgomery, AL in 2009.
