Obituary For Cassaundra Antionette Trabue

Cassaundra Antoinette Trabue was born on March 9, 1947, to the late Jennie M. Calvin and Lawrence B. Trabue. She was the first of eight children. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Joseph L. Calvin.

Cassaundra accepted Christ and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church. She later joined Burnett Avenue Baptist under the leadership of Rev. Dr. D. Corrie Shull, whom she always affectionately and patiently waited to give him a hug after service to let him know that she loved him.

Her family and friends were very important to her and she consistently told them that she loved them. Cassaundra rarely met a stranger and it wouldn't be long before she considered them a friend.

Along with spending time with family and friends, she also enjoyed her weekends with her Bunco Babes, listening to her music and traveling. Although her health was declining, she still believed her sweet baby Jesus Christ had more in store for her.

Dottie, as she was nicknamed by her baby sisters, exemplified the various love languages. Her words of affirmation always included "sweet," "love,"" believe." Her nieces and nephews were the lights of her life, and they all adored her just the same. Her friends received her gift of quality time, and acts of service. The gift of physical touch was shown through her hugs and kisses. They were genuine and always left a lasting impression. The last is receiving gifts, except Dottie herself was a gift.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Kevin, and one sister, Sherrie. On Thursday morning, May 6, 2021 God put His arms around her and whispered "Come to Me." She leaves to cherish her memories: four sisters, Shunita Miller, Joy Morris, Bridgette Saidy-Khan (Omar), and Sharmette Frempong (Kofi); one brother, Gary Trabue.
