Obituary For Lisa Bell Irvin Scott

Lisa Bell Irvin Scott, 55, of Louisville died Friday May 7, 2021 at Norton Women’s & Children Hospital.

Visitation 11-1 Thursday May 13, 2021 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 1pm.

Born Lisa Bell Irvin, on July 6, 1965, Lisa was the second to the oldest of four children born to Nelson Irvin and Sarah Martha Bishop.

Lisa’s career as a human resource recruiter allowed her to help people reach their full potential. Seeing the best in people, she was willing to give others the second chance when the world did not, and is known for launching the careers of many who have obtained great success.

Given the gift of song, Lisa had a love for music and would use her God-given voice to sing everywhere she could. Her unique and rich sound was admired by many and will forever be heard in our hearts.

Her Babies

Known as “Mommy” to her babies Raven and Tyler, Lisa was a mother who was proud of her children and their many accomplishments. She was known for her caring and nurturing demeanor, watchful eye, and being a shield of protection from life’s trials and tribulations. To her children Lisa was a pillar of strength and source for advice, offering up wisdom and encouraging them to see her glass ceiling as their launch pad into life. Lisa’s laugh and one of a kind humor will be greatly missed and can be seen in her children and granddaughter.

Lisa’s Devy

The best snuggles and giggles were from Lisa’s granddaughter Devyn Evvett. Her Devy was the apple of her eye who she adored. Lisa opened up the world to many experiences and everlasting memories for Devyn to cherish. These memories include their visit to Dayton’s Butterfly House, eating street tacos, and visiting the Second Street Market to buy spices and seasoning to cook Lisa’s famous and Devyn’s favorite grilled salmon. But most of all Devyn will hold to her heart the song her Grandma-ma created for her: “Devy with a “Y”. Grandma’s favorite cutie pie.”

Her Siblings

After the passing of their oldest sister Loretta Ann, Lisa took on the role of “Big Sister”. Lisa had no issue reminding Anthony and Stacey of this. She was proud of her siblings and would let anyone who cared to listen know. They shared a unique bond and special memories that will continue on in the hearts and as stories shared amongst their family whom she loved
