Though the clouds may hang over, there will be a brighter day, in that land that they call HEAVEN, GOD shall wipe all tears away. With faith and assurance that God will see us through.

With humble submission to the will of God, we stand with this precious Peterson Family to promulgate to all on the passing of their beloved:

Ms. Annie Doris Peterson was born on February 1, 1946, to the late Ivory Sapp and Are Mae Brown in Valdosta, Ga.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. She was the matriarch of The Sapp Family. Annie was the fourth oldest of 12 children.

Annie was a pillar of her community. She ran her own business as Annie's Maid Service, where she worked for several prestige families in Valdosta, Ga. She also worked a period of time at Parkwood Development Center as supervisor in the Environmental Services Department. However, her most honorable role served as caretaker of her late son, Geno Green until his demise.

Annie was preceded in death by her Parents: Ivory Sapp and Are Mae Brown; her Son: Geno Green; her Siblings: George McCormick, Betty Smithson, Nivey Sapp, Sandra Sapp, and Jeanette Sapp.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories Willie L. Peterson; And her loving, devoted Daughter: Salena McCray Parrish; Her loving devoted Caretaker: Annette Gordon; her loving God Daughter and Caretaker: Jazmine Battaglia; Caregiver and Cousin: Hazel Shiver; her Grandma and Sister: Letha Rolly; devoted Cousin, Friend, and Sister: Earlene Scott-Henderson ; A wonderful spirited God Son: Bart Sanders of Atlanta, Ga., God Son: Anthony Williams, Dwayne Hunter aka Meeto.

Annie leaves behind three Sisters: Annette Gordon (Ronald), Marion Griffith (David), Morris Gosier (Chester); four Brothers: Charles Edward Sapp of Oakland, Ca., Ivory Sapp of Wilmington, De., William Mason Sapp (Janet) of Arlington, Va., Kenny King (Myra) Valdosta, Ga.; and a host of stepsisters and nieces.

Annie will always hold a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren that she helped raised. The morals, values, and love she instilled into the lives of her grandchildren is invaluable and will never be forgotten.

She leaves behind her Grandson :Akeem Jamal Green of her son Geno Green; her Granddaughter: Sierra Chantae Claudio (Lance), and Grandson: Cory Martel Parrish of her daughter Salena McCray Parrish; and her great grand children that she loved on so dearly, who unfortunately didn't get enough time, she was known by them as their Nona. She leaves behind her sweet Mylena Cristiana (11 years old) and Milo Cristiano (4 years old).

God’s gift given: Friday, February 1, 1946 and the same God received His gift back: In the morning hours of Monday, May 24, 2021.

Life Celebration Services honoring her precious 75 years will be held Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the sanctuary of Crossing Jordan Baptist Church - burial will follow in the Foreman Cemetery.
