Mrs. Tammy Crook passed away on May 21, 2021 at Riverview Medical Center.

Obituary

Mrs. Tammy Denice Vinson- Crook was born on May 3, 1963 to the late Lorine Vinson (John) Sanders and the late Homer (Barbara Ivey) Ellis.

She was preceded in death by: Her sister, La’Kendra Ellis; two brothers, John Sanders Jr. and Tyrus Ellis.

She was educated in the Gadsden City School System. Upon graduating from Emma Sansom High School, she enlisted in the U.S Army.

Tammy was a very hard worker and was known to hold down 2-3 jobs at a time. After gaining employment at Goodyear and working there for 11 years, she retired.

One of her greatest passions was shopping. She loved it.

Tammy never met a stranger. She loved people and always had a heart for family and friends. Whatever she could do or say to uplift others, she would.

She was the “family member” that would cater the food on any and all special occasions and would enjoy doing it.

Later in life, she married Carl Crook from Gadsden, AL

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Lorine (John) Sanders and her father, Homer (Barbara Ivey) Ellis Jr; her stepfather, John H. Sanders, her sister, Lakendra Ellis and her brothers, John Henry Sanders Jr. and Tyrus Ellis.

Tammy leaves to cherish her legacy:Husband, Carl Crook;. Two daughters, Quinicia Martin and D’Andrea Martin; three chosen daughters, Shundrael Croft, Aziyah Glass and Alicia Sanders; one chosen son, Joseph (Brandy) Sanders; Her grandchildren, Brayden, Jayden, Jameria, Alexis, Makhia, Janiyah, and X’Zavier; Brothers, Bobby (Alicia) Sanders, Jonathon Sanders, James Sanders, Ricky Sanders, Timothy (Era) Vinson of Gadsden, AL, Billy (Darlene) Boulden and Keenan (Ethel) Ellis of Chicago, IL; Sisters, Joyce Sanders, Carla (Raphyon) Ayers, Kimberly Ellis and Laurie (Gary) Brown; Special sister/cousin, Shelia (Michael) Middleton; Mother-in-law, Mrs. Rosie Crook; Honorary sons, John Wiley and Peter Cowings; Honorable sisters, Jasmine (Man) Hudson, Lavenia Cain, Lisa Wyatt and Michelle Lewis of Gadsden, AL; special niece, Maliqa (Bailee) Crittenden. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 30, 2021 at the Mission Baptist Church at 2:00pm. Eulogist: Pastor Grady E. Robinson Jr. Interment: Lincoln Hills Memorial Garden

Public visitation will be Saturday, 4pm-6pm.
