Obituary For Durwin Leo Roberts

Durwin L. Roberts, 50, of 714 Polk St., Apt. A, Lynchburg, VA, departed this life on Monday, May 24,2021 at his residence. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Bernard L. Roberts and Georgia L. Jones.

He received his education through the D.C. Public School Systems and earned his High School Diploma class of 1989, from Calvin Coolidge High School.

Durwin was a loving father of three boys who loved to play video games, and he was a technology wizard and a die hard Washington Redskins fan. After becoming disabled, he had to make some adjustments, but he didn't let it stop him from doing what he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents; Mattie Roberts, and William Anderson; and his Maternal grandparents; Betty Randolph Jones, and Lenwood (Son) Jones.

Durwin leaves to cherish his memory; sons, Denzel and Donzel Roberts sons of Sabrina Lewis, and James Butler son of Tonya Butler; twin brother, "Boy D" Derrick Roberts of Amherst, VA; Sisters, Bonnie Roberts of Troy, VA and Cindy Roberts (James) Washington of Palmyra, VA; six nieces, Amani and Kadejah Page, D'Ericka Robinson, Brazil Talley, Chelsey Roberts and Janeice Thomas; two nephews, Antonio Washington, and Cameron Roberts; four aunts, Alice Riggins, Betty (Andrew) Sales, Lorraine (David) Smith, and Carol Lewis; one uncle, Henry Jones; devoted friends, Gerald Thomas, Lamont Rowland, Maxie Stevens, Valdez Abbey, Fred Carter, Lateef Harris, and Alicia Thomas; close cousin, Alicia Riggins (Mike) Mosby; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 12 noon at Community Funeral Home Chapel, 909 Fifth St., Lynchburg, VA. with Reverend Rodney Sandidge, Presiding. Interment will be private. Family and friends will assemble at the Funeral Home at 11:45 a.m. Family and friends may view his remains today, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Community Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA.
