Obituary For Mrs. Wanda Joyce Blount-Smith

A memorial service honoring the life and legacy of Mrs. Wanda Blount-Smith, age 64, of Attalla, Al. will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Prestige Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 1 O'clock p.m. with Rev. Joseph Stafford, Officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgeville Cemetery.

Wanda J. Blount-Smith was born on August 29, 1953 in Gadsden, Alabama to the parents of Mr. John C. and Agnes Lawrence-Blount. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Ridgeville, Al. where she served as pianist for several years. She was educated in the Attalla City/Etowah County School System( class of 1971) and Gadsden State Community College.

Wanda transitioned from laborer to reward on November 10, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Lee Smith; Father, John C. Blount; Brother, John Disque Blount; Grandparents, Dozier and Annie Lawrence, John Blount and Eula Mae Blount-Hammonds; Niece, Kellie Blount-Stone and nephew, Colin Bothwell.

Wanda is survived by her mother, Agnes Lawrence Blount; Sisters, Mariach McClain, Sharon (Fredrick) Miller and Kristie Blount; Brother, James ( Roxanne) Blount and Patrick ( Yvette) Blount; Aunts, Lillie (Melvin) Richardson, Eloise Williams, Renate' Lawrence, Beulah Lawrence and Cora Cameron; Uncles, Terry Blount and Arthur Hammonds; Special cousins, Jo Ann (Hosia) Roberts and Veronica (June) Smith; Sister-in-laws, Dorothy Smith, Catherine Wilson and Blanche (Terry) McKoy; Brother-in-laws, Otis Williams, Eugene Williams, Pastor Troy Williams, John Williams, Marsha (Yurima) Williams and James Williams. Life long friends, Ivarlean Herron and Lessie Mitchell. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Professional services entrusted to: Prestige Memorial Funeral Home.
