Obituary For Viola Mills

Viola E. Mills, 90, of N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in the peace and love of her home. She was born in Steelton, daughter of the late Willie and Evelyn (Jones) Wilson, graduated from the former William Penn Senior High School, retired from the Harrisburg School District and a member of The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Viola was the widow of John S. Mills, Sr. and in addition to him and her parents, was also preceded in death by her eleven siblings and three of her sons, Keith Wilson, Carl Wilson and Eric Mills and leaves to celebrate her life, her sons, Clayton Wilson, John and Dwayne Mills, all of Harrisburg and Ronald Mills (Chiron) of Colorado; her daughters, Denise Russell (Mark), Stephanie, Carla and Kim Wilson, all of Harrisburg and Angela Wilson of Virginia; her sister-in-law, Ruby Wilson of Harrisburg; her 16 grandchildren and a host of great grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her life will be celebrated on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of her church, 212 N. Progress Ave., with viewing 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Central PA Foodbank, 3908 Corey Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 or to her Church's Building Fund.

Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.
