He was baptized at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church and later used his God blessed musical talent by becoming a lead singer in the Male and Combined Choir. He also sang with the Praise Team for awhile. Thang was a proud Trojan of Carver High School, Hamilton, GA. He completed 3 years in the United States Army with an honorable discharge and worked nine years with Norfolk Southern and worked until his retirement at G & F Williams, Inc. in Hamilton, GA.
Thang leaves to cherish his memories wife: Alma “Betty” Walker; four sons: Curtis (Andria), Lorenza “TJ” (Alexandria), Nicholas and Derrius (Danielle); nine grandchildren: Mariah, Ethan, Rahsaan, Jazlyn, Justin, Kierston, Kardis, Jayda and Avery; four brothers: Cecil (Julene), Howard (Shirley), Curtis (Ethel) and Kenneth (Angela); he was also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. During the declining of Thang’s health, not only could he count on his family and friends for support, but he was fortunate to have his cousin Melvin Copeland and great buddy/neighbor Nouveau Monero.
Memorial Service will be Friday, May 28, 2021 at 6PM at Friendship Baptist Church 101 Friendship Street Hamilton, GA. Masks are required at the service and social distancing will be enforced. Temperatures will be checked before entering the church.
