MRS. MARJORIE POLK MCCAULEY

Marjorie Polk McCauley was born April 10, 1947 to the union of the late King & Lula Rorie Polk.

Marjorie was called home to heaven on the early morning of August 6, 2020 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A native of Wadesboro, North Carolina, she graduated from Anson High School where she was a cheerleader.

Marjorie continued her education by going to Job Corp of New Jersey. She later joined the United States Army & Army Reserve. She also became a professional limousine driver and traveled to many different places around the world. Later, she started working for Nice & Easy Driving School as a Driving Instructor. She furthered her career by opening her own driving instructor led program and has taught many students, and even family and friends how to drive. She loved music and truly was the life of the party.

Marjorie was best known as one to enjoy life. She had a loving and kind spirit. She loved baking, cooking, and playing cards. Eating crabs was most certainly one of her favorite things to do. She also loved watching the Young & The Restless and CNN. She was a devoted caretaker to many children. She truly valued her love ones. No one was a stranger to her and everyone was family.

Marjorie openly expressed and accepted Christ as her personal Lord & Saviour at an early age. She was a member of Union Grove Congregational church, underway the leadership of Pastor Matt Henry.

She was preceded in death by her mothers, Louise McCauley and Louise Polk; husband, Conwell McCauley Jr.; and siblings, Mattie Miller, Eugene Polk, Bobby Polk, Jay Polk Jr., James Polk and Ernest Polk; and two sisters-in-law, Bet Polk.

Marjorie Polk McCauley is remembered by a loving daughter, Cheryl McCauley Adeolu (Kunle Adeolu), two grandchildren, Ashley McCauley & Andrew Adeolu. Five brothers, Alvin Polk (Mary Polk) of Greensboro, NC, June Polk of Wadesboro, NC, Staffin Polk (Shrily Polk) of Wadesboro, NC, John Collins (Sally Collins) of Wadesboro, NC and Willie B. Polk of Charlotte, NC and one sister, Martha Davis of Wadesboro, NC. Two godsons, Brandon Dorsey and Keon Gray of Baltimore, Maryland. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The Services to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mrs. McCauley were held on Saturday, August 15, 2020, 11:00am, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina with military honors. Interment will take place at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, North Carolina on Monday, August 17, 2020.
