Melvin Curtis Hopper was born February 28, 1981 in York County, SC. He was the son of the late Raymond Eugene Hopper and the late Margaret Ann Seigle Hopper. Melvin transitioned on Thursday; May 27, 2021 in Charlotte, NC.

Melvin worked for Believe to Achieve in Shelby, NC, which later became 2 Peas in a Pod. His biggest joy was his family and friends. In Melvin’s spare time, he helped with a dance team and was part of the Black Lives Matter Moments. He loved cooking, and dancing. Melvin was the life of the party and loved helping people.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Raymond Brazil Hopper.

Melvin leaves precious memories to his sisters: Lorraine Selena Jackson, Angela Nicole Seigle, and Nettie Monroe (Michelle) all of Gastonia, NC and Eunice Brooks of Shelby, NC; brothers: Ronald Jackson of Spartanburg, SC and Coleman Eugene Hopper of Gastonia, NC; aunts: Brenda McGlee, Janice Robbins, and Sarah Chambers (Gary); uncle: Gene McClee; special cousins: James Seigle; God-Sister: Shan Adams; special friends: Jeffery Woods, Ishmel Perry, Tony Revlon, Franklin Powe, Monie Sims and Teetee Marshall-Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Saturday; June 5, 2021; 3:00 p.m.; The City of David Church-2500 Crescent Lane, Gastonia

Visitation: one hour before the service at the church

Interment: Rose Hill Cemetery, Gastonia
