Mrs. Vernethel "Bernetta" Porter Gadsden was born January 16, 1946 in Charleston, SC. Following a period of recent health issues Mrs. Gadsden died suddenly Monday, May 31, 2021 at 5:54 a.m. at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, SC. The Viewing for Mrs. Gadsden will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Walkers Mortuary Chapel, 3407 Old Pond Road, Johns Island, SC 29455. The Grave Site Service for Mrs. Gadsden will be conducted 11am, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Luke A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 7308 Mizell Road, Hollywood, SC. The Rev. Dr. Herbert L. Our condolences to the Family of Netta Gasden, Early in our lives we were neighbors to the Gasden Family in New York City at the Dyckmam Houses #2 .Ms Gasden was a life long friend /co worker of our late Mother Ada M.Rivers. Our relationship with the families grew as they found out they both were from South Carolina. We rejoice in knowing that they are now Together in heaven . Please accept our prayers Donnie,Leslie,& Eric as our mom transition last year as well. We asked God strengthen you as you adjust to the reality of mom physically not with you.
