Margaret Ann Mitchell Swanigan, 75 of Blytheville, Arkansas passed away Monday June 6, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born April 13, 1946 in Arkadelphia Arkansas to Sammy Davis, Jr and Georgia Beavers. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist under the pastorage of Bishop Brian Olden where she served on the Mother’s Board. Margaret was preceded in death by her father, her husband Leroy Swanigan, Sr., two sons, Dewayne and Leroy, Jr., stepfather, Lee A. Burns, three brothers, Willie Beavers, Stanley Beavers, and George Berry, Jr., two sisters, Tennie Faye Washington, and Edith Mae Collins. Margaret leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Mrs. Georgia Lou Burns of Jennette, Arkansas three sons, Robert (Mousalla) Smith of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Lance (Tamara) Swanigan of Blytheville, Arkansas; Steve Swanigan of Blytheville, Arkansas and one stepson, Anthony (LaToya) Daniels also of Blytheville, Arkansas; one daughter, Theresa (Jerry) Barclay of Blytheville, Arkansas and a stepdaughter, Dr. Tina Figueroa of Baltimore, Maryland; four sisters, Susie Howard of Blytheville, Arkansas; Georgia (Robert) Stone of Memphis, Tennessee; Morticia (George) Blair of West Memphis, Arkansas; and Annese (Harold) Kerr of Memphis, Tennessee; 28 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1215 East Street, Blytheville, Arkansas. Bishop Brian Olden will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
