Great Educator but a Greater Person. She and her husband touched my life, in exceptional ways. Words are not adequate to express, how she uniquely counseled me, from 1970-1973, my graduation. It was during the transition, from a segregated school system, impacted by forced busing, at Armstrong High School. She personally spoke to my needs, on three key occasions. I have no doubt, that her guidance was instrumental, in my future development. She planted the seed, for my commitment and dedication to become a community lawyer, for 40 plus years. She challenged me. "John are you going to be a part of the problem or a part of the solution?" Mrs. Brinkley, I thank you for investing in me. Surely, your investment, in many students, like me was "well done". Praise GOD, for your beautiful life. Rest in Peace. My deepest sympathy, to your family. Attorney John L. Taylor III

Mrs. Eva Davis Brinkley You are not just departed to your family and friends, you are a lost to anyone who may have had the opportunity to come into contact with you. You brought light into my life when I was near you. You were beautiful inside and out. I used to feel that your inside was, at least, ten times as big as your outside because you always had more capacity, for love and giving, than your small outer frame could carry. Your smile made my heart smile at times when I felt so heavily burdened. You always knew what to say to make me feel better. You touched my soul and made me yearn to be like you. I loved being in your presence. My only regret is my inability to articulate what you brought to my life. You are that person who I can honestly say, she made an unequivocal impact on my life. I just want you to know how you impacted my life in such a positive way. You let me know the importance of living in happiness rather than existing in sadness. I will always love and appreciate you. O Allah, our sister and Your servant, Eva Davis Brinkley, comes to You, leaving behind her deeds, her family, and her home. Give her a better family and a better home. Expand her grave for her and provide a light in her grave. Do not let her grave be a trial for her beyond what she can bear, and do not let her death be a trial for us beyond what we can bear. Forgive her faults and admit her to Paradise. Comfort and protect her family. Amen. Bilal Yasin El-Amin

Mrs. Brinkley was one of the kindest and most sincere persons I have ever known. I was her accountant and tax preparer for 42 years. She once said to me: "Yasin, I'm going to live to be 125, and want you to always do my taxes." I said: "Mrs Brinkley, I'm going to live to be 126, and I will always do your taxes." We will always love you, Lady B. We pray that Allah will forgive her faults and admit her to Paradise, comfort and protect her family. Bilal Yasin El-Amin El-Amin Business Services
