Obituary For Mrs. Winnie Lee Drain

Mrs. Winnie Lee Seay Drain was born on November 28, 1931 to the late Mrs. Alice Robinson Seay and the late Mr. Walter Seay in Thomaston Upson County, Georgia. She received her education in the Upson County public schools. At an early age she joined the Cedar Grove A.M.E. Church. She maintain her membership throughout her lifetime.

When she reached adulthood she met and married Mr. Vester Drain, Jr. To this union five children were born She was employed by the Peerless Mills for about thirteen years and later she became a private duty housekeeper. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother who took care of her household.

She enjoyed cooking, baking. Especially the sweet potatoes pies, working in her flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a good neighbor and would love to share with them.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Fannie Lue Seay, Mary Ann Seay and Johnnie Lou Coggins, four brothers, Mr. Willie James ”Will” Seay, Walter “W.D.” Seay, Elmo Seay and Edward Buck Seay. On Wednesday, May 19, 2021 the Lord called her name. Her spirit took flight and went home to rest. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. She leaves to mourn her passing five children. Mr. Robert Drain of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Linda Sue (Ralph) Loyd of Butler, GA Mr. Marshell Drain, Mrs. Debbie Sue Atwater and Mrs. Frances Eugenia (Larry) Daniel all of Thomaston, GA; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Janie (Rev. Leroy) Britt and Mrs. Ida Little both of Thomaston, GA; one sisters-in-law, Mrs. Annie Kate Seay of Thomaston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Graveside Service was held Saturday, May 23, 2021 Southview Cemetery
