Obituary For Queen Esther Edwards Walker

Queen Esther Edwards Walker was born July 1, 1935 to the late Ida Evans and Major L. Walker in Lyons, Georgia. She was a devout servant to her family and her community. Early in her life, she dropped out of school to help her mother raise her siblings.

She enjoyed sewing, listening to gospel music, playing card games, and cooking. Esther also managed her own restaurant for a number of years serving her community with soul food filled with love. She also worked with Pratt & Whitney as a custodian for six years.

On May 29, 2021, Esther heard the Master call her name and she answered to go on to receive her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayfield Edwards; daughter, Sandra Edwards; sisters, Mary Bobbit and Eunice McKay; brother, Tommy McMillian.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her children, Mary Mixson, Tanisha Edwards, Lorenzo Edwards, and Rayfield Edwards; siblings, Catherine Roundtree, Lizzie Bell, Helen Cook, and Jerome McMillian; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.

Public viewing for Queen Esther Edwards Walker will take place on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral Services will convene on Saturday, June 12, 2021 also at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Moore's Cemetery in Stuart, FL.
