When I Must Leave You - Helen Steiner Rice When I must leave you for a little while, Please do not grieve and shed wild tears And hug your sorrow to you through the years, But start out bravely with a gallant smile; And for my sake and in my name Live on and do all things the same, Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort and cheer And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; And never never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky! Lil, my favorite memory of us is when you tried to "kill me". Grandma (as I would call her, Madea as you would call her), and I would travel on the gray hound bus, to Cleveland Ohio to visit each year until my legs were to long to sit in grandma's lap. The last time we visited, is when you tried to kill me by burying me in the snow. I will miss telling you, "you were jealous of me because you were not the only child in the house when we visited. You had to share the attention of Aunt Matt and Uncle Bodillie. I will miss you Cousin, Rest Easy. Cousin Melissa Hughes
