Obituary For Gladys Martin

Ms. Gladys Martin, daughter of the late Homer and Eva Rice Martin, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Whiteoak North Grove Nursing facility.

She was the last surviving sibling of two brothers and three sisters.

Ms. Martin is survived by: her children, Sarah Irene Young, Minister Gladys Louis (William H.,dec.) Alston, Priscilla Allen, Bernard (Valerie) Martin, Frankie (Alfredia) “Duke” Martin; daughter-in-law, Sandra (Alan,dec) Martin; her grandson raised in the home, Aundar (Barbara) Maat; a special “son”, Ray Wiggins; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by: one daughter, Geraldine Martin; three sons, Henry M. Martin, Alan Martin and Homer L Martin; and her siblings, Mildred Martin, Roy Lee Martin, Irene Martin, John L. Martin, and Willie Mae Evans.

Gladys was a faithful member of Mt. Zion World Outreach Church under the leadership of the late W. T. Radden and Apostle Nathan Robinson.

A Celebration of the Life of Gladys Martin will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion World Outreach Church, 320 Wimberly Dr., Spartanburg, SC.

Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2256 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC.
