The homegoing celebration in loving memory of Mrs. Emma Carrie Durden will be held Friday, June 18, 2021, at Fairfield Baptist Church, 6133 Redan Road, Lithonia, GA 30058 at 10:00 AM. Pastor Micheal Benton, Officiant. Pastor Leonard Franklin, Eulogist.

The interment will be held at Hillandale Memorial Gardens, 6201 Hillandale Drive, Lithonia, GA 30058.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021, in the Ammer Parlor at Tri-Cities Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

I always thought of Emma Carrie and her sister, Freddie Mae as my classy cousins!!!! They were always "put together" no matter how hot it got in Georgia!!!! I will especially remember sharing a special moment with Emma Carrie during the wake for our Aunt Kathleen in 2012. As we sat to mourn our aunt, Emma Carrie took time to share with me her childhood memories of growing up in Redan/Lithonia. Hers were memories of her Uncle Sam, my father, who died before I was born. I share this memory for you to understand how important family was to my cousin, Emma Carrie!!!! Rest in peace, my Sweet Cousin!!! Laurine Daniel Press Hampton, Virginia

Emma and I use to work the Elections together, that gave us a chance to talk and catch up to see how the family was doing.We would exchange stories and we would laugh,laugh,laugh.Miss you Cousin Emma. Love You. Rest in Peace.
