Obituary For Mrs. Ruth Vaughn
In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Ruth Vaughn. Funeral rites for Ruth M. Vaughn will be noon Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1679 Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA. Her body will lie in repose for viewing one hour before the service (11:00 a.m.). (CDC COVID-19 guidelines and social distances will be observed.)
An Atlanta native, Ruth Vaughn attended Spelman College, and earned degrees from the University of Maryland and Howard University. As a teacher, she had worked for the public schools of Prince George County, MD, Washington, D.C., and City of Decatur, GA.
Ruth Vaughn, 76, died Monday, June 14. Those who cherish her memory include her devoted husband, Lowell E. Vaughn, Jr.; son, Wesley Vaughn, granddaughter, Ten Teliah Vaughn; other loving family and friends. Grissom-Clark Funeral Home, 227 East Lake Drive, S.E. We, Dr. Pierce Nathaniel (Jackie) Vaughn, Ms. Mattie Vaughn-Butler and Ms. Patricia Vaughn-Chavis express our deepest sympathy in the loss of your love one, Mrs. Ruth Vaughn. God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to remove from your mist, your beloved. Whereas her passing has left you deeply saddened; she will be missed, but not forgotten. 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 16 - 18 tells us: 14- For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 16- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17- Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18- Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
