Obituary For James "Bay Bay" Nelson

James "Bay Bay" Nelson, 66, a native of the Pembroke Community of New Bern died Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Philadelphia, PA.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2 PM at the Elks Lodge 1175 Pinetree Dr., New Bern, NC. A meal will be served following the service. Masks and social distancing is requested.

He is survived by his wife, Yvette Nelson; children, Calvin (LaSheena) Brown of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Brown of New Bern, NC, Crystal (Christopher) Coleman of Richlands, NC, Cathy (Jerry) Brown of Jacksonville, NC, Jamie Swinson of Warren, Ohio and Dontrel Swinson of New Jersey, Shamirah Brown of Monessen, Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of cousins including, Jean Taylor, Leroy Nelson, Keith Jones, Cheryl Jones, Kenneth Jones and Daniel Jones all of New Bern; and Janice Simmons.
