Obituary For Mrs. Carrie E. Emanuel

Mrs. Carrie E. Emanuel entered into rest Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center.

Carrie Elizabeth Reid Emanuel was born in Augusta Georgia on February 23, 1934 to the late Edward Reid and Hattie Reid. From this union Carrie was the youngest, her brother Henry preceded her in death.

Carrie was educated in the Augusta school system and moved to New York City and graduated from Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, NY.

She married Eugene Fuller and had three children Carl who preceded her in death, Patricia and Steven. Carrie went on to work in the health care field while earning her Social Worker Associates Degree from Fiorello Laguardia Community College and Baccalaureate degree at Lehman College in New York City.

Carrie retired from Mount Sinai Medical Center and relocated back to Augusta, Georgia and worked at MCG Medical Center. Her love for children and zest for lift allowed her the opportunity to become a substitute school teacher in the Augusta School System which she did for many years.

Carrie was baptized at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in New York City and later joined then became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Augusta. She loved her Tab Family and enjoyed serving on various ministries especially the Mentorship Ministry. She attended Sunday school and Bible study.

Carrie β€œThe Diva” was first runner up in the Ms. Augusta Senior Pageant, in October 2000. Her many passions included traveling to visit with family and friends, reading books and especially shopping.

Carrie leaves to morn and cherish her wonderful memory her daughter Patricia, son Steven, grandchildren Atara (Edmond), Hassan, Jason, Rahmel, Cordashia, Steven Pierce (Christina) Ivy, Jasmine, Devon, Monae and 11 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and treasured friends and her besties Patricia Walker, Ida Smith, Betty Bennings and Andrea Clark.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. on the campus at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1223 Laney Walker Blvd., Augusta, Georgia.

Public viewing will be Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

Burial Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29229.
