Obituary For Christopher (Mata) Terry Coverson

Christopher was born May 2, 1974 in LaGrange, GA to Mamie Johnson and Edward Coverson both of Pine Mountain, GA. He peacefully departed this earthly realm and entered into eternal rest on June 11, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown.

He was a faithful member of New Life Community Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, GA under the leadership of Pastor James Taylor Sr. He attended Harris County High School in Hamilton, GA.

Christopher was a great cook. He was employed by the Iron House Grill in Pine Mountain, GA. He was able to show off his skills as a chef, something he truly loved to do. Besides cooking, he loved to fish and listen to his music. If there was anybody who loved DMX it was surely him. He would rap while cooking at a moments notice. But nothing could take the place of him spending time with his two beautiful girls. He felt that his two girls was the BEST that happened to him.

Christopher is preceded in death by his father: Edward Coverson; adoptive dad: Will Walters; & maternal and paternal grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his memories two loving and devoted daughters: Myeshia Sims and Kristiyoanna Sims both of LaGrange, GA; devoted mother: Mamie Johnson of Pine Mountain, GA; three sisters: Chloris (Tavares) Stanford of Warm Springs, GA; April (Francisco) Johnson and Jasmine Johnson both of Pine Mountain, GA; one brother: Kevin Johnson of Pine Mountain, GA.

He leaves special memories to his adoptive mother: Mary Jean Walters of Pine Mountain, GA; two nieces; three nephews;and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

Graveside Service will be June 17, 2021 @ 1PM at Little-Coverson Cemetery Crawford Creek Road (Dunlap Road) Pine Mountain, GA

Face coverings and social distancing ENFORCED.
