Obituary For Herman Earl Fowlkes

Mr. Herman Earl Fowlkes of Fayetteville died Friday 17, 2012. Celebration of Life service for Mr. Herman Earl Fowlkes of Fayetteville will be 11:00am Friday, August 24, 2012 at Saint Philip AME Church, 240 Candler Rd., S.E., Atlanta, GA 30317, the Reverend William D. Watley, Pastor, officiating. His body will lie in state one hour before the service. Entombment, Melwood Cemetery, Stone Mountain.

Visitation Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 2:00pm until 9:00pm. Grissom-Clark Funeral Home, 227 East Lake Dr., S.E. (at Memorial Dr.) 404 373-3191.

Earl leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Mrs. Doris A. Fowlkes, two daughters, Tia D. Fowlkes and Kiva J. Fowlkes; one son, Kelvin L. Cannady; five grandchildren, Sidney Fowlkes, Caleb Fowlkes, Ethan Fowlkes, Chrysanthia Drains and Tyeshia Palmer; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Meagan Griffin; siblings, three brothers, Edward Dean (Shirley) Fowlkes, Dr. Harold (Vernistein) Tubbs, William Loneal (Wilma) Fowlkes; one sister, Catherine Thornton; mother-in-law, Ruby Lee; sisters-in-law, Peggy Fowlkes, Earnestine Fowlkes, Marilyn (Andrew) Brackett, Julia (Leon) Junior, and Teresa Shipmon; brothers-in-law, Joseph Lee, Robert Lee, Marvin Lee and Gene (Victoria) Lee; godparents, Captain Calvin Kemp and Dr. Jean Devard-Kemp; a host of nieces, nephews, play sisters and play brothers, Saint Philip Church family, co-workers, beloved buddies, Edward & Lottie Rivers and Bill and Mattie Croix and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Saint Philip Food Pantry.
