I didn’t know Kirk, but I’m so sorry for your loss. That loss seams unbearable. so people try to “comfort” us by saying, “you’ll see your loved one in heaven,” but that means we have to die too! In John 11:20-27, It’s interesting what happened when Jesus met Martha, the sister of Lazarus, after he died. Martha said, “If you had been here, he wouldn’t have died.” Jesus said, “Lazarus will rise.” Martha said she believed that he would rise on the last day. Then Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.” She didn’t know that Jesus was planning to resurrect Lazarus THAT day, but that’s exactly what he did! But, He never told her that Lazarus was with His father in heaven, he told her she would see Lazarus again on earth! That’s what he did and what He promises us!! Earlier that day, In John 11:11-15, Jesus likened death to sleep. We know when we go to sleep we wake up. Death is a sleep we can wake up from, but it will be at the call of Jesus. That ties in with what is said in Acts 24:15 where it says “there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous.”. So, according to the Bible, and what Jesus said, Kirk will be returned to the earth, I hope that thought brings you comfort. If you have questions, feel free to contact me.

Please know that your family has my deepest sympathy. May you find comfort from God's Word, the Bible. Rev. 21:3,4 says that Jehovah will wipe every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will outcry or pain be any more. The former things has passed away. We all look forward to this time when we can see our love ones again.
