Obituary For Mrs. Gloria Jean Mock

Ms. Gloria Jean Mock passed. To Comfort all who mourn. To Console those who mourn in Zion. To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called threes of righteousness. The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:3

Gloria Jean Mock arrived in her heavenly home on March 11, 2017. Jean was born at Crawford Long Hospital on October 16, 1945 to George and Mary Leckenby.

She met the love of her life, Sol Mock in 1962 and they married on March 17, 1963. Together they had five children. Before her health began to decline, she enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. She deeply loved her grandchildren, and they will all tell you that she made the world’s best banana pudding. She babysat all of her grandchildren and let them get away with things that her children could not. She also enjoyed helping Sol with his remodeling business before his retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Leckenby and her daughter, Patricia Vanderwater.

Jean leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving husband of almost fifty-four years, Sol Mock; daughters, Debra (James) Smith, Cindy Mock, Vivian (David) Alcantara, and son, Don Mock; grandchildren, Tori Amezquita and fiancé, Robert Wong, Tabatha Lummus, Brittany Vanderwater, Nicholas Vanderwater, Jesse and Jacob Blankenship, Jacob Mock, David III, and Eva Alcantara.

She was also blessed with four great grandchildren, Julian Amezquita, Jazlyn Wong, Jaxon Blankenship and Joseph Vanderwater; siblings, Kathy Manning, Dian Sage, John Leckenby, Lea Haley and David Leckenby, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
