Obituary For Callie Mae Thomas

Mrs. Callie Mae Thomas passed May 1, 2012. Celebration of Life for Mrs. Callie Mae Thomas will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 11:00 a.m. at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel. Rev. Jack Mitchell, officiating.

Mrs. Callie Mae Thomas was born August 28, 1921 in Athens (Clarke County) Georgia. She was the middle daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Jane Winfrey.

Callie was raised in Athens and received her High School Diploma from the Athens Clarke County School System. After high school she married the late Augustus Thomas and from this union a family of love respect and devotion was formed.

She lived a God fearing life as a caring, loving, supportive and devoted mother, grandmother and proud great grandmother.

Callie departed this life on Tuesday morning, May 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Thomas McAllister; six brothers and two sisters.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving and devoted sons, Augusta “Gus”, “Junior”, “J.R.” “Thomas, Jr.” and Jerry (Telessa) Thomas; a loving and special daughter, Ilah “Michelle” Winfrey-Miller; three grandchildren, Roderick “Punkin” Goldwire, Augusta Thomas III and Jerry “Gerel” (Venus) Thomas; nine great grandchildren, Ajia, Trenton, Cameron, Isaiah, Iyonna, Kallie, Nija, Kwest and Jaden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
