Obituary For Dr. Geneva Nelson Harris

Celebrating the life of Dr. Geneva Nelson Harris, age 100 will be held Saturday May 8, 2010 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church 501-7 Mitchell St., Rev. Byron E. Thomas, Pastor, officiating. Interment, Southview Cemetery. Remains in state 9-11 a.m. Dr. Harris graduated from Clark College in 1931 with a B.A. degree in Library Science, Master degree from Univ. of Illinois and Doctor from Philander Smith College. She became a charter member of The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 1930. She was a member of several organizations. Survived by son, Marquis Lafayette Harris, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, 2 great grands; Diane Williamson who has been a long time friend,’daughter’ and caretaker; Central Church Family, other relatives and friends.
