Obituary For Mrs. Frances Eliza Herrin

Frances Herrin was born early spring, March 27, 1930 during the midst of the Great Depression in Union County, Blairsville, Georgia to Iris Trammel Anderson and George Anderson. She was an only child. She grew up in North Georgia. In 1955 she and her widowed mother relocated to Pico, California. In California, Frances completed a registered nursing degree at Los Angeles Trade Technical College and began her long career in nursing, working first at Booth Memorial Hospital in Montebello, later at Central Receiving Hospital in Los Angeles, Cedar-Sinai, Hollywood Presbyterian, and retiring from Kaiser Permanente in 1990. She returned to Georgia in 1990 and although she had retired, decided to work again. She worked at DeKalb Medical Center, Grady Hospital, and finally at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Frances was married to Booker T. Thompson and gave birth to one daughter, Nagueyalti Warren. She later married Roy Herrin who preceded her in death in November 1983. Frances was a member of Saint Philip A.M.E. Church of Decatur, Georgia and a past member of Saint Paul A.M.E. where she served in the Nurses Guild. Left to celebrate her life and cherish memories are her family Nagueyalti and Rueben Warren, Alkamessa Dalton, Asha Warren, Ali Warren, Andre Dalton, Ali-Sha Dalton, Austin Green, Ameer Peacock; her friends Mary and David Tolbert and her pet Eddie Herrin.

To the family of Ms. Frances. I am so sorry to learn of her passing. She was a wonderful, kind, and generous lady. I met her when I first moved to GA. She was my neighbor and friend. I enjoyed talking to her as she walked her dog Eddie. She will be missed.
