Obituary For Mr. Winston O'Neal

Winston O'Neal, affectionately known to many as "Nim", was born in Barnesville, Georgia on September 14, 1951, to the late Calton and Elizabeth Brown-O'Neal. The second of five children, Winston joined the Sardis Baptist Church in Barnesville at a very age.

Winston spent his early years in Barnesville, Georgia. He, along with most of his siblings received their education at Booker Elementary School in Barnesville. As a young adolescent, the family relocated to Atlanta, where he attended John Carey Elementary and later, West Fulton High School.

Winston loved to work with his hands. He was a talented craftsman and a painter by profession. He painted many homes and businesses until his health began to jail.

Winston O'Neal departed this life on September 9, 2009. He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted and loving mother, Elizabeth O'Neal; one son, Sanchez Hardnett; siblings: Calton (Gwendolyn) O'Neal of Greensboro, North Carolina; Walter and Warren O'Neal of Atlanta; Georgia, and Yvette (Richard) Gilbert of Conyers, Georgia. nieces: Dawnne (Raymond) Wise, Elisha O'Neal, Tiffany Gantt and Yamiece Gilbert; newphews: Walter Nelloms, Richie Gilbert, Kareem O'Neal, Ryan O'neal and Ryan Gilbert; aunts: Louise Williams, Anna Small, Patsy Dexter, Bessie Few (George), Laura Hasberry (Clarence), Katherine Johnson (Jim) and Jean Hogan. uncles: Joe Brown, Sr. (Mabel), Rev. William Brown, Jr. and Charlie Will O'Neal (Louise); and a host of other relatives and friends.
