Obituary For Alvenia Renee Freeman

She was born Alvenia Renee Smith on May 28, 1958 to the union of Freddie C. and Janie Mae Smith of Cordele, Georgia, the fifth child of six children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Israel Baptist Church. She was educated in The Atlanta Publicc School as a member of the Class of 1976.

Alvenia married Zachery Freeman this union was blessed with three children Zachary Tyrome, Kiara A., and Nina Gabrielle. She was a generous, nurturing, and loving mother who was known for her commanding smile, her passion for plants, and her eccentric culinary tastes. She was employed by the Internal Revenue Service and the US Postal Services for a number of years. She could make you laugh and seemed to have an endless motherly instinct which justified her nickname, "Nay Nay".

Alvenia passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday August 8, 2008 at the age of 50.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son Zachary Tyrome Freeman; two daughters, Kiara A. Freeman and Nina Gabrielle Freeman; one Great Grandmother Lucille Shazier (Cordele,GA), her parents Freddie C. and Janie Mae Smith, one Aunt Gladys Porter (Cordele, GA), two granchildren Rayonte Freeman and Nakayla Camor Thompson; A loving and devoted friend Alvin Lloyd; brother, Larry Calvin Smith; four sisters, Patricia (Willie) Smith-Parker, Janice (Herbert) Smith-Orise, Sharon Smith-Dickerson, and Melody Smith; former mother-in-law Minnie Bell Freeman; former sister-in-law Linda Humphries; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
