Obituary For Leslie Ann Blakeman Bladen

Leslie B. Bladen, age 82, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at home. Leslie hailed from the Finger Lake region of upstate New York. She returned to her roots and life long friends yearly with her husband AI. The two of them were world travelers, adventurers, gardeners, movie buffs, book worms, World Word II experts and generally just two peas in a pod. AI proceeded Leslie to the after life just months before her. Just shy of their 60th wedding anniversary, Leslie, always punctual, left this earth early to celebrate her anniversary with the love of her life. They had a standing date she would not miss. They will be buried together in a private ceremony on their anniversary. Leslie and AI lived in various locations across the country due to Al's 40 year career with Travelers Insurance. Always the adventurers, their last move was to the city of Atlanta from their home of 40 years in Marietta. It took them no time to discover their favorite restaurants and servers in their east Atlanta neighborhood. The family gives special thanks to all the young people and neighbors who made them feel so welcome in their new neighborhood. They were an example, to all who knew them, on what an enduring love looked like. Leslie leaves behind her brother, Boothe; daughter, Leslie & her daughter-in-law, Paula; her son, Bill & daughter in-law Deedie; grandson, Wesley, granddaughter Ali & husband Brandon, 4 great grandchildren and numerous life long friends spread across the country and concentrated in the Finger Lake region. She will be missed by many. Grissom-Clark Funeral Home, 227 East Lake Dr., SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30317, 404-373-3191.www.grissom-clarkfh.com

Dear Leslie Ann and Paula: Words cannot express how saddened I was to hear of Leslie's passing upon receiving the call from my sister Donna. Please know that you are in my thoughts and I hope if you make it to NY this summer that I can tell you in person one day soon! I am forever grateful for the lasting friendship that our mothers were blessed with since their days at Odessa Central School. . . .not many people can claim a special friendship like they enjoyed! With sympathy, Wendy Brewer Gibson "Elsie's Daughter"
