RUBY MARIA JENKINS, the daughter of the late Marshall and Beatrice Smith, was born on September 10, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was called home to rest Wednesday December 18, 2013. Ruby married Tyrone Jenkins in 1973 and from this union there were three children, Andre (who preceded her in death) Margaret and Tyrone Jr. Ruby received her education in Baltimore City Public School; she held several jobs including housekeeper and machine operator. She then moved to Atlanta Georgia to begin a new start with her children. She was an exceptional mother who built her life around her children and grandchildren and no sacrifice was too great for them. Maria’s (as she was called by family and friends), jovial and fun loving ways will be greatly missed, but a memory that will be etched in our hearts forever. She was a terrific cook and loved to play practical jokes on her family and friends. Ruby believed in the Lord knowing Jesus was with her regardless of the situations that showed up in her life. Her favorite saying was “Jesus can work it out”. She departed this life on Wednesday December 18, 2013 at home. She knew this world was not her final home and has now crossed over to the other side. She leaves to mourn: her loving children, Margaret Jenkins, Tyrone Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. two sisters, Deborah Smith, Marsha Smith; two brothers, Anthony Smith, Larry Smith all of Baltimore, Maryland Tyrone Jenkins Sr. of San Francisco and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
