Obituary For Mr. Louis Vincent Reese III

Celebration of life for Mr. Louis Vincent Reese III will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 1:00p.m. at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel. Rev. Jeffery O’Neal, officiating. Family will assemble 12:00noon at residence.

Mr. Louis Vincent Reese III was born August 18, 1950 to Dr. Louis Vincent Reese, Jr. and the late Mrs. Mary Ethel Hicks in Albany, Georgia.

Louis attended Booker T. Washington High School from 1964-1967, then transferred to Stowie Preparation School where he graduated. Louis furthered his education at Morehouse College majoring in Political Science. After college he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country faithfully for 14 years. He also served in the Vietnam War.

Being raised in a family where the importance of education was very important Louis decided to continue his education at Albany Junior College and later at Albany State College majoring in Sociology. He worked for UPS for many years. Louis was loved by everyone and known for being a caring and generous man. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Louis was preceded in death by his Grandmothers, Eunice Hicks, Ruth Jackson-Reese and Louise Crawford.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife, Vinnie Upshaw-Reese; daughter, Amanda Reese; step-son, Abe Upshaw; father, Dr. Louis V. (Faye) Reese, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Carter, Kathy Reese, Kia Mosley; brother, Edward Mosley; grand-daughters Aviana and Olivia; step-granddaughter Alexis Upshaw (Mark) Carter; grandson, Omar; great grandson, Macarrio; mother-in-law, Mrs. Daisy Groom; sisters-in-law, Recie (Joe) Sander, Lillie (Stanley) Power and Villie Payne; brother-in-law, Joseph (Barbara) Groom. Special friends, Gloria, Lorna, Antoinette, and James Hightower; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, co-workers, and friends.
